“It’s not your average playground. It encourages huge imagination.” A visitor describes the fantastic new Clearburn Natural Play and Picnic Area in New Lanark.
Developed with the help of local schools, communities and groups, New Lanark World Heritage Site, Clydesdale Community Initiatives and South Lanarkshire Council, the area is far more than a traditional play area. It features a stage, sensory path, bug hotel, storytelling area, beautiful willow dome and areas for contemplating nature. Lovely supplementary educational materials were developed by O Street in collaboration with local school children- look out for tiny animal drawings on trunks around the site!
