Community Action Lanarkshire, a project of the Rural Development Trust has commissioned an independent consultant to manage community engagement for the heritage project. Local Lanarkshire man Martin McManus is a community engagement specialist, with significant experience of working with community-led projects.
Martin will be reaching out to the people of Caldercruix, Greengairs, Harthill, Plains and Upperton to capture their stories, memories and recollections from the past so that they can be captured and preserved for future generations.
