The rural villages of Harthill, Eastfield and Greenrigg will launch their new joint 5-year community action plan at the Cleland Senior Citizens Hall, Main Street, Cleland, Motherwell ML1 5QW on October 24th at 5pm. The plan explains what the community’s priorities are for the next five years and highlight particular projects the community would like to work on together to improve their place. The plan can also be used as evidence by any community group seeking funding or by organisations who deliver services in that community.
The action plans are the culmination of over 6 months of work with a dedicated Steering Group made up of local people. Supported by LEADER funded Community Action Lanarkshire, the community created a tailored survey, held open drop-in sessions and detailed focus groups, all leading to the production of the Action Plan.
The plan will be launched at the Community Matters event on 24th October and it is hoped that as many people as possible from these communities will come along, where copies of the plans will be available on the night.

“This action plan lays out what local people would like to see happen in their area over the next five years. It was really useful being on the Steering Group to represent the children in the village.”
