Seeking a contractor for Key Links Active Travel project

The Rural Development Trust (through the Community Action Lanarkshire project) has been successful in securing a Places for Everyone grant through Sustrans for the ‘Make Your Way - Key Links’ project covering three communities in rural South Lanarkshire.

Through previous work in these rural communities, it has been identified that there are key linking routes which are missing between communities and services and so create barriers to everyday active travel.  Three missing links have been identified and the aim of the project is to undertake a feasibility study for each site to assess the options available for the infrastructure required to turn these missing links into key active travel corridors for everyday journeys.

The three routes are:

Leadhills – Wanlockhead

Douglas – NCN 74

Abington – Abington Services

We are now looking to recruit a contractor who can undertake the project, both the technical aspects and the engagement and consultation with the local community and stakeholders (supported by Community Action Lanarkshire).
